Danni
Founder and Chief Mermaid
Danni Washington is fierce, focused, and on a mission. As a world-renowned television host and science communicator, Danni is the first African-American woman to host a nationally broadcast syndicated science television series. She is presently the host of The Genius Generation podcast produced by Seeker and Trax which spotlights young people behind an incredible invention, entrepreneurial pursuit, or discovery using science.
Danni also served as a correspondent on CBS's Mission Unstoppable, a weekly program highlighting fascinating female innovators thriving on the cutting edge of science, Xploration Nature Knows Best on FOX, a series predicated on ingenuity in biomimicry meant to expose younger generations to inventions inspired by nature. Additional projects include "Science the $#!* Out Of It," for the popular Facebook Watch vertical, Untamed Science for Pearson Publishing, and Ocean GEMS. Danni continues to educate youth on the importance of ocean conservation, STEM innovation and environmentalism using mediums that acutely connect: science, arts and media. Her simplification of what is at stake with our planet makes her a mainstay in conservation and STEM advocacy.
Amie
Creative Lead
Amie Snow is a first class forensic investigation graduate, Ex Water-sports Instructor, Illustrator and Influencer from south east London, who swiftly made a transition into the creative industry -with no experience- four and half years ago via an Ogilvy internship called the pipe.
Since then she has been a trailblazing advertising creative, nominated as a creative of tomorrow by the British Arrows, featured in campaign as a women redefining creativity and has been apart of winning great business and campaigns such as World Afro day, MOBO awards and Shea Moisture.
As a Black Woman merging her love of Inclusivity, Philanthropy , Art and the Ocean Amie is able to creatively consult on Mocha Mermaid from an authentic and relatable place.
Amanda
Marketing Specialist
Amanda Chiles is a recent college graduate with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Race and Ethnic Studies from the University of Redlands. Born and raised in New York City, she is a writer, community organizer, and content marketing professional. Amanda works as a featured writer at Planet Home and as Lead intern for Big Blue Enterprises, LLC.
